Malayala Ayurveda Vaidyasala Pte Ltd
Description
Malayala Ayurveda Vaidyasala was founded in Singapore in the year 1932 by Sri Govindan Vaidyar.
In 1941, his nephew, the late Shri Appu Vaidyar, came to Singapore to work as a apprentice at the Vaidyasala (ayurvedic clinic). That was the start of Shri Appu Vaidyar’s formal Ayurvedic education via Gurukulavasam (teacher-disciple education).
In 1947, after his uncle retired, Shri Appu Vaidyar assumed overall responsibility of the vaidyasala. During his 60 years as an ayurvedic physician, Shri Appu vaidyar treated thousands of patients not only from Singapore and Malaysia but also from the other parts of the world.
On 15 Nov 2005, at the age of 84, Shri Appu Vaidyar left us. Since then, his wife Mrs Leela Appoo has been managing the centre. In 2013, Shri Appu Vaidyar’s youngest son, Mr Mahesh co-managed the running of the vaidyasala.
